Keys steels
UNI EN 10087
Automatic steels, or keys steels, present a chemical analysis with a lead content of 0,15-0,35%, as well as sulfur with a content of minimum of 0,10%. The addition of these chemical elements allows for better workability and, consequently, less tool wear. This kind of steel has an important aptitude to be worked with the presence of chip removal and are suitable for series productions. Precisely the presence of lead, helping a fragilization of the chip, ensures greater speed in the productions and therefore also lower costs.
They are mainly used in the production of keys but also in small metal parts and in the furniture industry.
